South Essex Homes is an Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) and we manage around 6,500 properties for Southend Borough Council. In November 2008 we achieved  ‘2 stars and ‘promising prospects for improvement’ from the Audit Commission.

In April 2008 we were invited by London Borough of Croydon to take the role of Regional Champion for the East of England not because we were the best at resident involvement but demonstrate a strong commitment to resident involvement.

In January 2009 we held our first Learning Exchange with 24 resident involvement officers in attendance representing 20 organisations across the East of England.  Following this successful event members have agreed for us to host up to four Learning Exchanges per year for officers with an annual conference to exchange information with residents.
