Fostering Youth Engagement

A Learning Exchange Hosted by Poole Housing Partnership

On 25th October 2010, Poole Housing Partnership hosted a learning exchange event with the theme of engaging meaningfully with younger tenants and residents. This theme had been selected following a survey of housing providers in south west Britain which Carrick Housing undertook to find out what the greatest areas of challenges facing providers were. The event was attended by around thirty representatives from social housing providers and provided an excellent opportunity to identify pitfalls and think-tank solutions.

The main speakers were Peter Cooper, an engagement specialist of younger people between the ages of 13-19, from the Borough of Poole, and Marie Marsh, Resident Involvement Co-Ordinator at Poole Housing Partnership. To read more details of Marie’s presentation, follow the link below. To get a flood of new ideas, also find below a link to Poole Housing Partnership’s cutting-edge draft Youth Engagement Strategy.
